LEADERSHIP

Louisiana Trails, led by a team of dedicated individuals, seeks to provide access to and usage of the trails in accordance with the highest standards of local, state, and federal policy. The mission of Louisiana Trails calls for development of multi-purpose trails along the corridor, which, at suitable points, connect with other recreational facilities that operate under the auspices of the State of Louisiana and the U.S. Forest Service (in Louisiana, the Kisatchie National Forest). Dr. John Tarver serves as president of the parent corporation; Mr. Robert Hopkins, a civil engineer, holds the office of vice-president; and Ms. Elizabeth Tarver, a lawyer, the dual titles of secretary-treasurer.

The engineering firm of BALAR Engineers & Surveyors, 631 Milam Street, Shreveport, Louisiana 71101, provides professional engineering and consulting services to Louisiana Trails.

Murle Cheatwood and his band of trail riders have undertaken the task of organizing and conducting periodic covered wagon trail rides along Louisiana Trails. His address is 899 Wafer Road, Saline, Louisiana 71070-2412.
